The Best (and Worst) Thanksgiving Foods

thanksgiving-spreadThanksgiving is a great meal.  Friends and family come together to give thanks and celebrate the harvest season–

…and to overeat.

All of us know the feeling of eating too much, too heavy, too rich.  When we should be enjoying our time with loved ones, we are uncomfortable.  We exasperate our health conditions and catch a cold.  We put on weight and feel lethargic.

I’m not going to tell you to make dramatic changes to your Thanksgiving meal.  Usually that doesn’t work—and besides, it’s no fun.

Instead I suggest you just make small choices.  Pick one food instead of the other.  Make little positive choices and they’ll add up to a healthier, more enjoyable meal. continue reading »

Another reason not to buy products with High Fructose Corn Syrup – Mercury…

high fructose product

The Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy has discovered that 9 of 20 tested samples of commercial high-fructose corn syrup were contaminated with mercury. The Institute also found that 55 kid-friendly foods and soft drinks contained total mercury, which is any combination of inorganic, organic or metallic mercury. As you can see, there are plenty of products with higher mercury levels than Coke, but the level is still fairly high:

If you are asking yourself how the heck mercury would have gotten into high-fructose corn syrup, here’s a possible answer: mercury-grade caustic soda and hydrochloric acid are primarily used to separate corn starch from the corn kernel, and to adjust the pH level of the process. The contamination seems to occur when mercury-grade caustic soda and outdated mercury cell technology are used in the production of HFCS. The good news is that mercury-contaminated HFCS is a completely avoidable problem, since mercury-free versions of the two reagents are available.

Ronald now knows that he can get older and feel great!

Put it simply, Dr O is the best. Before I started seeing Dr. Pelechaty, I was given to the false notion that getting older equated to more sleep and less willingness to start new endeavors. After several months of acupressure treatment, Dr.O strongly recommending a blood work up and suggestion food supplements. I felt the vitality returning to body and soul. This truly makes me realize how exceptional a health practitioner Dr.Pelechaty is.

Tamima’s headache relief with Essential Oils

I have suffered from these headaches for years and never considered any other medicine than what I knew. My visit yesterday points to an entire other way of handling my issues. I drank tons of water and took the supplements you prescribed and used my peppermint and PanAway and I felt so good that I worked my usual 10-hour day and then went into the city and saw a show.

It is such a pleasure to be able to do the things I like to do and not feel awful. I can never thank you enough and look forward to learning more.
